The beacon light of Monte Igueldo | mycustomcruises
The current beacon light was built between eighteen hundred and fifty four and eighteen hundred and fifty five on the slopes of Mount Igueldo and is situated at an altitude of 134 m above ocean level. Its first light was developed with oil and paraffin. In nineteen hundred and sixteen alterations were presented to make it work with oil. In nineteen hundred and eighteen it became electrified, in 1912 the town of Igueldo licensed the architect Luis Elizalde refurbishments, incorporating a plant with prominent windows and a terrace (from it you can see the city of San Sebastian and the landscape), and in nineteen hundred and twenty nine his flasher was renewed, expanding its reach.
